Once the tool is connected, you can start by reading the key information. The XTOOL IP616 usually will display the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and other relevant data. This step is crucial as it ensures that the tool is correctly communicating with the vehicle’s system.
In this case, Xtool says coding is lost. You can restore coding data using the Code Operations function.
After reading the key information, the next step is to restore coding.
With the ECU reset, you can now proceed to program the new key. The XTOOL IP616 will prompt you to enter the ISN (Individual Serial Number) of the key. Switch on the ignition using the silver button, and follow the on-screen instructions to proceed.
Once the ISN is entered, you’ll be prompted to place the new key in the coil to finalize the programming. Unfortunately, in this demonstration, a blank key was not available, so the process couldn’t be completed. However, if you have a blank key, this is the point where you would insert it into the coil to complete the programming.

How to use the Xtool KC501 PC software?
Download it to the computer.
Get it installed.
If your PC cannot find KC501, disable your firewall on your pc and see if that let’s it see the kc501. You can go in and disable the firewall for the kc501 only.
Connect your KC501 module to laptop via USB.
Run KC501Studio.exe PC software.
Here is the software menu.
In Setting menu, it allows to change language.
In IC function menu, KC501 PC software will read/write eeprom/mcu (freescale) and ECU.
For ECUs, KC501 will read the following ECU/IMMO modules.

In Key function, KC501 software will Unlock/Generate HITAG2 (ID46) and Megamos 48 transponders.
If need to update KC501 PC software version, just Hit Upgrade and find new versions.

As a standalone, the autel xp400 pro has more coverage than kc501 PC software. But keeping your KC501 PC software does not harm.

You can modify report information, Customer info, additional info, report name etc
